Dubbel?[bewerken | brontekst bewerken]

Beste Klaas, Op je gebruikerspagina staat onder het kopje 'Sibbekunde': "Hiermee heeft de V een dubbele betekenis gekregen naast Van." Volgens mij heeft de V geen dubbele betekenis naast Van, maar een tweede betekenis. Als je 'naast Van' zou weglaten, kan het wel. Met vriendelijke groet, Emelha (overleg) 4 jan 2013 13:53 (CET)

(na bwc) De dubbele betekenis is dat het ook staat voor de Romeinse notatie van het cijfer 5, beste Emelha. Het zou ook nog kunnen staan voor Vaak, Veen enzovoort en/of Victor als dat mijn tweede voornaam zou zijn. Dat is echter niet het geval. Dan zou het meervoudig zi‌jn. Dat het om het Romeinse cijfer V gaat, begrijp ik. Mij gaat het om het woordje 'naast'. Er staat nu: naast Van heeft de V een dubbele betekenis gekregen. Dat zouden dan drie betekenissen zijn (die er misschien in werkelijkheid ook zijn). Kortom, je formulering is (volgens mij) niet duidelijk. Emelha (overleg) 4 jan 2013 15:26 (CET)
U was me net voor Glimlach Inmiddels heb ik het verduidelijkt. Als u het nog niet goed begrijpt, wees dan zo vrindelijk een e-mail te sturen. In de Kroeg schrijf je "Een sprekend voorbeeld hoe je met homoniemen om kunt gaan.". Wat hebben homoniemen met die discussie te maken? Mathonius 11 jan 2013 23:26 (CET)

Een homoniem is een woord of naam met twee betekenissen. De simpelste oplossing is er een Arabisch of Romeins getal achter te zetten. Een andere is een tweede voornaam, zoals bij Willem Alexander. Beoordelingsnominatie Lijst van Pittsburghers[bewerken | brontekst bewerken]

Een Wikipedia-gebruiker heeft één of meer artikelen die u hebt gestart of waar u aan hebt gewerkt genomineerd voor beoordeling. Dit betekent dat deze gebruiker het artikel op dit moment niet geschikt acht voor Wikipedia. Het gaat om Lijst van Pittsburghers dat is genomineerd door Vis met 1 oog. De reden hiervoor staat op Wikipedia:Te beoordelen pagina's/Toegevoegd 20130117 en dat is ook de plek waar u kunt reageren op de nominatie. Wellicht hebt u er iets aan om de conventies door te lezen; daar kunt u zien hoe een artikel er uit hoort te zien. Zie ook Help:Waarom staat mijn artikel op de beoordelingslijst. Mocht het het artikel na 2 weken als niet voldoende worden beoordeeld zal het worden verwijderd.

Ik weet van dit in zoverre weinig af dat ik de de door haar opgerichte stichting een warm hart toedraag, maar het belang van de persoon in twijfel trek. Als van een dame alleen haar geboortejaar en niet plaats en datum wordt bekend gemaakt, bevestigt dat een beetje. Meestal is het andersom volgens gangbare etiquette. Het spijt me, maar zo ongeveer denk ik erover. Niet meer en niet minder. Ik twijfel nog. Het artikel over haar vraagt een verbetering die u inmiddels hebt aangebracht Duim omhoog Bravissimo! Hoi Klaas,

Zie [2]. Ik heb je bijdrage verwijderd, omdat die volgens mij onbedoeld, erg ontactisch zou kunnen overkomen. Ik denk dat Ziko bedoelt dat hij het project goed en nuttig vindt. Een Duitstalig iemand zal dan al snel in het Nederlands "leuk" noemen. Ik ken een aantal Duitstalige mensen die redelijk Nederlands spreken en die vinden ook alles "leuk", terwijl wij daar veel meer nuances voor hebben. Om escalatie te voorkomen heb ik het stukje dus maar verwijderd. Voel je vrij om het weer terug te plaatsen als je dat nodig vindt, liefst met nuance natuurlijk. M.vr.gr. Ja, dat ben ik wel met je oneens. Ik denk namelijk dat Ziko het project "leuk" vond. Hij bedoelt volgens mij daarmee te zeggen dat hij het een goed idee vindt om aandacht te schenken aan de oorlogsmonumenten in Nederland. Ik kan me eigenlijk ook niet voorstellen dat iemand de monumenten an sich (sorry voor het Duits) leuk zou vinden in de betekenis die het woord "leuk" doorgaans heeft in het Nederlands. Goed mogelijk dat hij het woord gebruikte bij gebrek aan een beter alternatief in zijn woordenscaht die blijkbaar beperkter is dan die van moedertaalsprekers als jij bijna (je bent Fries begreep ik uit je GP?) en ik helemaal.     • Proposal was made to the Hungarian, Hebrew and Italian Wikipedias to be the first batch to use phase 2 of Wikidata (infoboxes). Scheduled timeframe for this is end of March
    • d:Wikidata:Database reports has some useful reports like the list of most used properties
    • The interwiki shortcut :d was changed to always use www in the resulting link (to prevent editing issues on other URLs).
    • The list of available properties is growing and a whole bunch of new ones are being discussed
    • Reasonator gives you a nice adapted view of an item about a person
    • Items by cat helps you find missing items in a certain Wikipedia category

    • Rolled out new code on wikidata.org. The new stuff you probably care about is:
      • Improved references. They can now have multiple lines. This should make references much more useful. You can now have one reference with for example values for each of the properties "book", "author", "page" to describe one source.
      • Fixed the prev/next links in diff view (bugzilla:45821)
      • d:Special:EntitiesWithoutLabel now lets you filter by language and entity type
    • Widget to add language links on the Wikipedias directly: added setting to enable/disable it per wiki and made it available for logged-in users only
    • Widget to add language links on the Wikipedias directly: improved layout / size
    • Made it so that the “edit links” link on Wikipedia is also shown when the corresponding item only has a link to this one language and no other languages
    • Submitted improved Apache config patch to make wikidata.org always redirect to www.wikidata.org, which is awaiting code review and deployment.
    • Improved the script that is responsible for taking Wikidata changes to the Wikipedias
    • Added a few ways to better debug the script responsible for taking Wikidata changes to the Wikipedias. This should help with investigating why some changes take way to long to show up on the Wikipedias.

    • When you edit a statement there is a little wheel in front of the text field. This lets you choose between “custom value”, “unknown value” and “no value”. “No value” means that we know that the given property has no value, e.g. Elizabeth I of England had no spouse. “Unknown value” means that the property has a value, but it is unknown which one -- e.g. Pope Linus most certainly had a year of birth, but it is unknown to us.

Dag Klaas, ook al maskeer je tegenwoordig je gebruikersnaam, ik vraag me toch nog steeds af hoe ik die echte gebruikersnaam moet interpreteren. Ik lees daar MaïsVoorOns (of Mais voor de Verenigde Staten maar dat lijkt me minder voor de hand liggend). Hoe komt iemand aan zo'n naam?  Wikiklaas  overleg  25 mrt 2013 22:58 (CET)

Ik spreek het uit 'ZieForUs' (zoals een Amerikaan dat zou kunnen doen). Het is een verbastering van Zephyros, een één-persoons-project waar ik mee bezig ben. Dank voor het vragen van deze uitleg. Iemand suggereeerde ten onrechte dat het in het Duits Sieh zou worden. Als woordspeling wordt het daar echter Mehr für uns ˆ_^ CguV,  Klaas|Z4␟V:  26 mrt 2013 02:41 (CET)

    • The first 11 Wikipedias can now include data from Wikidata in their articles (If you want to see it in action see the infobox at it:Torino)
    • Worked on automatic summaries for statements
    • Worked on making properties accessible from the client using their label so you can use {{#property:executive director}} instead of {{#property:p169}} for example
    • Made qualifiers ready for the next deployment (Please test. See details further down.)

    • We’re currently carefully monitoring performance after the deployment of phase 2 on the first 11 Wikipedias. There seem to be a few small issues. As soon as they are resolved we'll deploy on English Wikipedia. All other Wikipedias are planned to follow very soon after that.

    • We worked on reducing the time it takes for Wikidata edits to show up in the Wikipedias and made some progress. Daniel posted an analysis
    • We started running a script on the database in order to make search on Wikidata case-insensitive. This should be finished in a few days and then search should be more useful.
    • In addition to the above we have rolled out a new search box that suggests items. This should also make finding things on Wikidata a lot easier for you.
    • We’re making some progress with Internet Explorer 8 support but there are a lot of issues with it (some outside our control). It’s unclear at the moment how much we can improve it still without spending an unjustified amount of time on it. You can follow the progress at bugzilla:44228
    • Edits are now auto-confirmed for users with more than 50 edits and account age 4 days: bugzilla:46461
    • Do you need old-style interwiki links for a sister project for example? This is for you
    • The Wikimedia Foundation applied as a mentoring organisation for Google Summer of Code again. We have proposed some Wikidata projects for students to take up if the Foundation is accepted again. At least 2 other organisations that applied also propose Wikidata ideas. More details on that once we know which organisations are accepted.
    • Denny hacked together a tree of life based on data from Wikidata
    • Wikidata was added to wikipulse
    • A template to retrieve data from Wikidata if no local value is set
