I'd say yes, seeing as all the medals were earned during the period of the German Reich and not what is now called the Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Thought 'Germany' (Duitsland) and the corresponding flag can refer to Germany throughout time, including the Reich, mentioning the Reich explicitly should prevent confusion. So by all means, change it to 'Duitse Rijk', unless anyone has any objections to that? Woody|(?) 12 jun 2012 11:42 (CEST)Reageren
@Woody, hello, don't know, how to do best with Deutschland / Duitse Rijk, if in the next years some German will win a Medal .... ;) ?
But now I see a new problem with flags: in Europees kampioenschap schaatsen 1897 and Europees kampioenschap schaatsen 1898 for example the Flag of Finland ist the same as of Russia, corresponding to the political occupation until 1917 (?). But this is not so done in Europese kampioenschappen schaatsen mannen, where until 1914 are shown the modern Finland-flag for locations and persons of Finland. I will now not further operate there in the Netherlands-Wiki, but let it do Yours! Greetings --Jo.Fruechtnicht (overleg) 12 jun 2012 12:14 (CEST)Reageren
Even though the two gold medals were won in the time Germany was called the "German Reich", the medal table just lists the current countries and the medals they won throughout history. Therefore I suggest keeping the country of Germany in the medal table since it's still the same country (just the name and flag have changed a little). On the other subject, in the table with the historical information, the correct historical flags should be used. - FakirNLoverleg 15 jun 2012 13:40 (CEST)
