Her father, of Dutch-German origin (according to family tradition the original name was van der Haacken) received a title of Polish nobility about 1826 - without "von" - and a Russian title of count in 1828 - without "von". There werde some Russian titled nobles carrying the predicate "von", but they were od Baltic-German origin.
