Methioninesulfoximine (MSO, ook bekend als MetSox[1]) is een onomkeerbare glutaminesynthetaseremmer. Het is het sulfoximinederivaat van methionine met convulsieve effecten.[2]
Methioninesulfoximine is samengesteld uit twee verschillende diastereomeren, namelijk LS-methioninesulfoximine en LR-methioninesulfoximine.
MSO wordt gefosforyleerd door glutaminesynthetase.
